About the Job

Gentis Solutions is looking for a Weld Engineer to join our client's team. Client-specific benefits are available and will be discussed in detail during your interview.

Compensation for this position ranges from 95k/year - 120k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.

This position requires the individual to be located in the Cheswick, PA area.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship (due to DoD requirements)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Metallurgy, or Materials Science (from an accredited institution)

  • 6+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of arc welding processes: FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW, and PTAW

  • Experience with at least one major welding code (e.g., ASME Section III & IX, AWS, NAVSEA)

  • Familiarity with a range of materials: carbon steel, low/high alloy steels, stainless steels, nickel and copper-based alloys, and dissimilar metal welding

  • Prior hands-on experience as a welding, materials, or manufacturing engineer

  • Ability to interpret material specifications and produce x-ray quality structural and seal welds

  • Solid understanding of welding metallurgy

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage risk in complex projects

  • Team-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree (M.S.) in a relevant discipline

  • Familiarity with supplier qualification processes and audits

  • Experience supporting engineering/manufacturing meetings and cross-functional teams

  • Background in developing and managing work plans, including schedules, budgets, and resources

  • Mentorship experience with junior engineers or technicians

  • Experience working in environments involving non-traditional manufacturing and repair

  • Ability to support and execute procedure/personnel qualifications per welding codes and contracts

  • Experience identifying new welding techniques/process improvements

  • Familiarity with technical support for both internal teams and external customers
