About the Job
Gentis Solutions is looking for a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.
Compensation for this position ranges from 125k/year - 139k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position requires the individual to be located in the Columbus, OH area.
Requirements
- 5+ years in cybersecurity or network security engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with F5 Distributed Cloud WAF (WAF policies, bot defense, API protection)
- Proficient with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama management
- Strong Python scripting skills for automation, log parsing, or API integration
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SSL decryption, and traffic inspection
- Experience with SIEM and log aggregation tools (e.g., Splunk, Cortex Data Lake)
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience securing workloads in Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD security practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, F5 CA, GSEC)
