About the Job

Gentis Solutions is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.

Compensation for this position ranges from 156k/year - 169k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.

This position requires the individual to be located in the Seattle, WA area.

Must Have

  • 3+ years of backend or distributed systems engineering experience
  • Strong experience designing and implementing event-driven systems on AWS (EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions), including orchestration, retries, and failure handling
  • Experience building and owning data lifecycle services for customer/marketing data (normalization, deduplication, enrichment, suppression, retention/deletion) across distributed AWS data stores
  • Experience developing production-grade backend services using Python, Java, or TypeScript
  • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK or CloudFormation) to build secure, scalable, and observable systems
  • Proven experience deploying high-reliability systems, including staged or canary deployments and production rollouts
  • Experience implementing system integrations across multiple services and AWS accounts
  • Experience working with data-processing or data-quality platforms where correctness and traceability are critical
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

Plusses

  • Experience with cross-account AWS architectures and secure data integrations
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, dashboards, alarms, runbooks, on-call processes)
  • Experience working closely with product, data, and partner engineering teams in cross-functional environments
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer)
