Senior Network Engineer
About the Job
Gentis Solutions is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.
Compensation for this position ranges from 156k/year - 164k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position requires the individual to be located in the Seattle, WA area.
Must Have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree;
• Minimum of 7+ years industry experience;
• Experience with optical planning, modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks;
• Expertise IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols;
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera and Cisco);
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms (Cisco and Juniper) including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms;
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF;
• Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills;
• Candidates should also have had significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP;
