About the Job
Gentis Solutions is looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.
Compensation for this position ranges from 114k/year - 150k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position allows for individuals to work fully remote anywhere in the continental US.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer, leading or supporting data-focused development teams
- Proven expertise with Azure Cloud, Databricks, and PySpark for large-scale data orchestration and transformation
- Strong programming skills in Python, applying object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Familiarity with Delta Share and cloud-native data sharing frameworks
- Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated deployment
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience in iterative development and continuous delivery cycles
- Demonstrated passion for data engineering, innovation, and process improvement
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python unit testing and mocking frameworks
- Familiarity with Unity Catalog for data governance in Databricks
- Experience using Databricks Asset Bundles for deployment and environment management
- Background in data quality frameworks or automated testing of data pipelines
