About the Job

Gentis Solutions is looking for a Python Software Engineer to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.

Compensation for this position ranges from 121k/year - 139k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.

This position allows for individuals to work fully remote anywhere in the continental US.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional Python development experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs using FastAPI or comparable frameworks (Flask, Django)
  • 3+ years of experience deploying and managing microservices at scale, including performance tuning and scaling
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes; Helm a plus)
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based deployments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Strong SQL experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Understanding of web service architecture, microservice design patterns, and API best practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git/GitHub)
  • Experience working with authentication frameworks (OAuth, token-based auth, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field (or equivalent work experience)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with API gateways
  • Experience with FastAPI performance tuning and scaling for high-volume microservices
  • Experience with model control plane (MCP) / platform development
  • Experience with cloud-native monitoring, logging, or tracing solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
