Gentis Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team. Client-specific benefits are available and will be discussed in detail during your interview.
Compensation for this position ranges from 90k/year - 105k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position requires the individual to be located in the Cincinnati, OH area.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This is an operations-facing role with duties including designing, developing, and supervising all aspects of equipment mechanical design. This includes operating with unreviewed action or decision making. Must be an expert in standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Mechanical Engineering field, especially as it relates to equipment design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Assists in developing and using established procedures standard to the company, responsible for the design of all components of a project
· Attends order card meetings and acts as the Responsible Mechanical Engineer for the project
· Ensures strategy card is filled out completely and accurately
· Responsible for releasing bill of materials by the agreed upon dates on the strategy card
· Develop and maintain standard design practices, standards, documentation, libraries, and software
· Translates order card information into 2D floor plans for production engineering
· Provides technical guidance to junior engineers and ensures information is understood so that assignments are successfully completed
· Remain informed of new engineering technologies related to new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve products.
· Perform other technical functions as required or assigned
. Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
· Troubleshoot issues with existing company installed systems
· Provides feedback on equipment manuals for internal and external publication.
· Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
· Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty
· 5+ years of mechanical design experience with preference for packaging / production machines
· Proficiency in engineering systems, word processing and spreadsheet computer input skills
· Expert in 2D Design/Drafting Tools (i.e., AutoCAD)
· Expert in 3D design capabilities using SolidWorks
· Capable of passing Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
· Detailed knowledge of good engineering design practices
· Good understanding of Industry Standards, OSHA, CSA, & CE
