About the Job

Gentis Solutions is looking for a Engineering Technician to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.

Compensation for this position ranges from 62k/year - 83k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.

This position requires the individual to be located in the Cincinnati, OH area.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Solid manufacturing background (Aerospace industry experience is a significant advantage).

  • Extensive experience in toolmaking and machining steels and exotic materials.

  • Proficiency with lathes and 3-axis mills.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SolidWorks.

  • Experience using precision measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges, calipers).

  • Proven ability to read and follow engineering drawings and produce detailed prints.

  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software for tooling design.

  • Ability to monitor and maintain tools for efficient manufacturing line performance.

  • United States citizenship or permanent residency (due to regulatory compliance). Technical and Functional Skills

  • Experience assembling, fitting, repairing, and managing tools.

  • Capability to use hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders effectively.

  • Ability to identify root causes of machine breakdowns and implement solutions.

  • Skilled in compiling detailed reports and tracking tool maintenance processes. Core Competencies

  • Self-starter with outstanding communication skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and duties efficiently.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use Outlook for time management and scheduling. 

Nice-to-Have Skills

Industry and Advanced Knowledge

  • Aerospace industry experience.

  • Experience with heat treatment of metallics.

  • Familiarity with CNC programming. Process and Leadership Skills

  • Leadership experience in tool maintenance processes.

  • Capability to monitor manufacturing line tools for repairs and improvements. Advanced Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with machinery like presses, milling machines, and grinders.

  • Familiarity with handling exotic materials and advanced machining processes.
