About the Job

Gentis Solutions is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Design Manager to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.

Compensation for this position ranges from 125k/year - 144k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.

This position allows for individuals to work fully remote anywhere in the continental US.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of experience leading fire life safety (FLS) design and project delivery from design development through construction administration on complex commercial projects (industrial experience preferred)
  • Advanced expertise in FLS systems, building codes, ASHRAE standards, and applicable industry regulations
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes
  • Strong financial management experience including budget development, cost control, and value engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and coordinating across clients, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Advanced BIM coordination and clash detection experience on active development projects
  • Ability to lead detailed technical design discussions and align engineering execution to program-level objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical concepts to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Suite (Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks), AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office

Plusses

  • AHSI-accredited Commissioning certification
  • Experience with energy modeling or sustainability-focused design
  • Experience using project management software tools
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
