Quality Engineer II
About the Job
Gentis Solutions is looking for a Quality Engineer II to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.
Compensation for this position ranges from 98k/year - 108k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position requires the individual to be located in the Sunnyvale, CA area.
Requirements

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across hardware and software teams

Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases

Ability to run use case and scenario-based testing on physical devices

Proficiency in writing, reading, running, and enhancing test scripts

Experience interpreting test results and advocating for quality throughout the development lifecycle

Strong bug-tracking skills — ability to document, isolate, regress, and follow through to resolution

Familiarity with wireless and networking technologies, particularly with mobile and connected devices

Ability to provide technical support to field/trials teams and troubleshoot system components

Able to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with device logistics as needed

Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills

Willingness and ability to execute field tests and document findings
Nice to Have

Proven troubleshooting expertise, especially with prototype hardware/software setups

Hands-on experience with Android-based device testing

Experience configuring, deploying, and validating software updates

Scripting and coding experience in Python, Perl, Bash, or Java

Familiarity with Ubuntu or other Unix/Linux environments

Experience conducting user trials, beta testing, or collecting customer feedback

Knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and networking protocols

Experience with Jenkins or other CI tools

Testing background in consumer electronics labs or field environments

Ability to work independently and analyze test data for continuous improvement
