About the Job
Gentis Solutions is looking for a Data Scientist, Recommender Systems to join our team. This role is part of our Professional Consultants group, working directly with clients to accomplish their goals. Consulting engagements typically last an average of 12 months but often extend in duration.
Compensation for this position ranges from 114k/year - 135k/year per year, based on experience. Payment is bi-weekly and is based on all hours worked, without eligibility for overtime.
This position requires the individual to be located in the Cincinnati, OH area.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building deep learning models for large-scale recommendation and personalization systems
- Strong proficiency with TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, and Spark
- Experience using statistics, experimental design, and exploratory data analysis to turn data into actionable insights
- Experience supporting production model deployment and MLOps practices
- Proven ability to own technical solutions and deliver measurable business impact
Plusses
- Experience with Azure, GCP, Databricks, or similar cloud platforms
- Experience partnering with Data Engineering and MLOps teams
- Background in retail or e-commerce environments
- Experience building reusable toolkits, pipelines, dashboards, or internal libraries
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly
